Who We Are
Solid Rock Ministries is passionate about building God’s kingdom, one home at a time, by seeking out opportunities to engage local community members, and giving them the ability to share the love of Jesus, through service, thus providing hope to our neighbors in need.
History
Solid Rock Ministries was established in 2006 as a ministry to the Holland and Zeeland areas by aiding people in need with basic and necessary home repairs. By the year's end, the first short-term mission trip to Mississippi was successfully completed.
God has blessed Solid Rock Ministries with continued growth and many new partnerships with non-profit organizations have been formed. The most successful short-term mission trip to Mississippi was accomplished in April '09 with over 80 adults and children volunteering. The Solid Rock office is used for administrative purposes and a place for our clients to go to receive love and support and prayer. To many, this is their first introduction to a God that loves and values them right where they are.
Present:
Solid Rock Ministries is a Christ-centered organization sponsored by local individuals, churches, and businesses. Solid Rock seeks to aid people who are facing financial difficulties or are experiencing physical limitations. Services are provided locally as well as through short-term mission trips. .
Volunteers assist clients with basic, necessary "standard of living" repairs; repairs needed to keep their homes safe and livable
All repairs and services provided share a common denominator - they are done as a visible way to share God's love to the people He has placed before us to serve. Solid Rock Ministries believes that the first step to "build home and restore lives" must begin by building relationships. All people are viewed as "created in the image of God." This belief creates the Solid Rock that hope is founded on.
Future:
With the distinct ability to multiply local church resources both financially, as well as utilizing its most important commodity, God's people, Solid Rock is ready and willing to help the church make a huge impact in the surrounding community.
Our hope is to consolidate volunteers with people needing "standard of living" home repair services and/or short-term mission trips in one central clearing house, saving dollars and resources that are currently being duplicated. In this way we can provide a quick and easy way for local people to give help and to receive help.
